CARL MARTIN Carl began playing drums over 20 years ago in his hometown in Southwestern Ontario, Canada (eh!) He moved to the Puget Sound region about 4 years ago. Throughout his career he has played with a host of bands and solo artists, playing a variety of styles in a ton of diverse venues. He is currently with a Seattle based band called IC3. Stylistically, they are a hard rock band with funk flavorings. The band likes to call it, post-industrial jump funk. They are currently in the studio recording the first of three albums for Interurban records, also based in Seattle. Prior to working with IC3, Carl was a sideman for original, undercover band LucyLunchmouth. They recorded an indie CD last spring and played in the Seattle area doing clubs, cafes, TV and radio. Over the years Carl has honed a style that is, as several musicians have described, as "solid as a rock". "He plays with such passion", and always tries to play for the song. His philosophy is simple, "...to listen, and support the music." Carl is also well versed in the Christian music scene and has played with various church music teams. Playing so many different types of venues and styles has helped Carl to support what is happening around him whether it is a gentle vocal line or a screamin guitar riff! He tries to listen to as much music as possible to learn as much as he can. Among many many others Carl sites, VInnie Colaiuta, Bill Bruford, and Steve Gadd as inspiration!!!
