Examples 1 and 2 are the drumset pattern with the beats being dispersed between the rim, toms, bass drum and snare drum. Example 3 is the standard 8th note ride pattern for either H.H. or cymbal. Examples 4-6 are various ride patterns, off beat 8th notes, and different 16th note combinations in 5 and 6. Example 7 is 1/4 notes played with either the right or left foot (depending on how you set up) on the H.H. To clarify any confusion on the notation, the first "snare" hit in Example 1 is a rim click and the last beat of the bar is on the snare, on the "And" of beat 4. The last two beats of example 2 are 16th notes played on the tom-tom.
