STUART VAZQUEZ FOURLONG
He began his drum set studies self-taught, his brothers taught him the first class of music reading and then his first experiences were in pop music. Stuart developed his own style practicing different kind of music like : rock, tropical, Caribbean, jazz and more.
His studies got richer in workshops at "Universidad Autonoma de Mexico" and "Escuela Superior de Musica" in Mexico City, in the same way with independent groups learning and practicing percussion workshops . He learned Afro Cuban and Caribbean music with: Pedro Bolaños, Eguie Castrillo, Jesús Diaz and Charly Chavez.
He studied Drum set workshops with masters like: Waldo Madera, Antonio Sanchez, David Garibaldi, Ritchie Morales and some more.
Stuart has participated with musicians and bands like: Ensemble of percussion of Escuela Superior de Musica at Mexico D.F, his own rock band D.N.A, Latino Jazz fusion directed by Erik Vazquez and Jaime Reyes, Jose Luis Montalvo y su banda (salsa music), recitals for Yañez music (Veracruz) and others. He has developed clinics and workshops within music education, nowadays he works the same way teaching at Seattle Washington and he is part of the Seattle World Percussion Society.
His personal project PERCUSIONANDO is part of his work, where he is looking for to expand his creativity. Like part of that project he has created music for theater, directed and composed on a project called "Jazz Bajo Percusion" , and Now he is developing and co-working at the PERCUSIONANDANZA jazz dance project creating rhythms for workshops and choreography .
Nowadays he has made the first production in his project PERCUSIONANDO called NATURALEZA HUMANA (Nature of the human being). This work is an ensemble of different drums that involves ideas or themes in each composition, allowing to the audience enjoy and imagine with this drumming expression. This work is great tool for dancers, actors, musicians in fact different teachers of dance and yoga are using it in their classes in Seattle Washington.
Stuart Studied at Universidad Veracruzana his profession like Bachelor of Bigiology and worked on independent project with colleagues and also he worked four years for the local Goverment in his town in Veracruz Mexico. This profession is combined with his career like drummer and percussionist.
